Choose a starting point for your RFQ

Start with the part, the blank and the work you need quoted. The service guides help you prepare a request; they do not replace drawing review or confirm a manufacturing route.

    Start with the component family

    Choose the guide that fits the part's defining features. Use a family guide for a shaft, gear or fastener; use CNC guidance for the machining route, or a forging/casting guide when the blank route matters.

    Identify the blank and supply responsibility

    If a blank is specified, identify its type and who is responsible for supply. If it is not, mark the route as open rather than treating a service category as a confirmed manufacturing plan.

    Define what the quotation must cover

    Ask the quotation to distinguish blank supply, machining, any outside processes and required inspection records. Responsibility and acceptance requirements need to be agreed for the actual drawing.

    Separate samples from repeat production

    Separate trial/sample quantities from repeat batches and annual demand. Identify any requested tooling, reporting and delivery conditions; do not assume a sample quotation also defines the production scope.

Can one project combine forging, casting, and machining?

Yes. Where appropriate, a forged or cast blank can be combined with CNC turning, milling, drilling, grinding, heat treatment, plating, black oxide, or other finishing and inspection steps.

Please send drawings or samples, target quantity, material grade, tolerance requirements, heat treatment, surface finish, application, inspection needs, packaging requirements, and the requested delivery schedule.
